Virginia Wade Finley, 97, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Llano Cemetery Mausoleum with the Rev. Kevin Deckard, associate pastor of Polk St. United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Virginia was born Aug. 14, 1917, in Amarillo, one of six children of Charles and Ida May Wade. She attended Amarillo High School and West Texas State Teacher’s College. She married Maurice Charles Finley of Amarillo in 1939, and never remarried after his death in 1970. She was an active member of Polk Street Methodist Church and Susanna Wesley Sunday school class, PEO and numerous bridge clubs. She was an avid traveller and enjoyed exploring the globe with friends and family.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Lynn Clark of Leawood, KS with husband Jerry and children Justin Clark of Dallas and Emily Clark of Missoula, MT; a son Rick Finley of Jackson, Miss., with wife Bi and children Marisa and Mila; nieces Mary Mike Montgomery of Brush, Colo., Kathy Thomas of Amarillo, and Sally Noland of Amarillo.

The family suggests memorials be to Polk Street Methodist Church, 1401 S. Polk St., Amarillo, TX 79101; or to a charity of choice.
