BROWNVILLE, N.Y. — William A. Carr, 64, of Brownville, passed away Monday, Nov. 3, at his home.

Mr. Carr was born March 9, 1950, in Watertown, a son of T. Albert and Gwendolyn Vebber Carr. In 1968, he graduated from Lyme Central High School and two years later graduated from Onondaga Community College with an associate’s degree in Radio Broadcasting.

In 1974, he began his career at Long Point State Park for the New York Department of Parks and Recreation. He retired in 2006, as the supervisor.

Mr. Carr was an aspiring author and wrote many Letters to the Editor in the Watertown Daily Times.

He collected Jack Benny memorabilia, enjoyed movies, music and gardening: especially planting specialty tress.

A marriage to Janet Howard ended in divorce.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Hawley W. and Tara Carr, Glen Park; a daughter and son-in-law, Gwendolyn and Gabriel Calderon, Washington, D.C., two grandchildren, Raylyn and Kyla; and a sister, Barbara, Brown, Hawaii.

The service will be at the convenience of the family.

Contributions may be made to his name to Long Point State Park.
