Bob Doyle White of Irving, Texas passed away on November 4, 2014. He was born on August 20, 1929 in Benton, Arkansas to Doyle and Myrtle Treece White. The family moved to Leslie, Arkansas until he was 9 years old. Bob enlisted in the US Marine Corp in 1948 and served for two years. In 1950, he met the love of his life, Melba Felty, with whom he was married for 57 wonderful years. In 1951, he re-enlisted in the Navy and served an additional 3 years. In 1957, he graduated from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and in 1963 became a Professional Engineer. Bob worked for several defense contractors, including Bell Helicopter and Vought Aerospace, from which he retired.

Bob and Melba had 4 children: Barry, Diane, Mark and Leland. They were also blessed with 5 grandchildren, Angela Gilland, Brad Golightly, Ashley, Brittany and Camryn White and 1 great granddaughter, Parker Gilland, all of whom he was immensely proud. Bob and Melba attended the First Baptist Church of Irving for over 50 years and provided endless contributions to the church family. He loved being active in the church and his extended family there. Bob was a very loving and Godly man, who taught his children strong Christian values. He was a husband, father, grandfather, friend, teacher and role model. He loved to travel with his family and share his time and engineering skills with anyone who needed him. He was our dad.Visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at First Baptist of Irving. Interment will be at 10:15 am in Lane B at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery on Friday, November 7, 2014.
