His Committal will be at noon on Monday, November 10, 2014 at the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Keithville, Louisiana.
Nathaniel Caldwell Jr. transitioned on Saturday, November 1, 2014 after a lengthy illness.
Brother Caldwell attended Valencia High School where he was an active member of the band and a top academic scholar. However, at the brink of his Spring graduation from Valencia he had to change schools and complete his studies at Notre Dame High because of the desegregation of schools. Even though this was so, he still loyally claimed Valencia High as his alma mater. After high school Nathaniel enlisted into the United States Army and served in various capacities. On February 9, 1973, Nathaniel married his Valencia High School sweetheart Linda Allen and to their union was born three children: Renee, Michael and Shelly. Brother Caldwell united with the Greenwood Acres Full Gospel Baptist Church in 1997 through the pastoral leadership of Bishop Fred A. Caldwell, Sr.
Nathaniel Caldwell Jr. was preceded in death by his father Nathaniel Caldwell Sr., his mother Emma Lee Caldwell, grandmothers Beulah Burden and Ollie Mae Caldwell Dillard, and Grandfather Jessie Caldwell.
He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife Linda Caldwell, three children, Renee, Michael, and Shelly Caldwell, two grandchildren Nya-Simone and Bria Caldwell, three brothers Ricky Caldwell (Kim), Delance Maxie and Cortez Maxie (Tasha), 1st cousin Betty Thomas, sister-in-law Betty Allen Britton (Tony), three nieces and one nephew and a host of other friends and family who loved him dearly.
