Jeptha Beebe was born in Chemung County, NY. He was the fifth of five children born to Hezekiah and Sarah (Boyer) Beebe. He moved to LaGrange County, IN in 1837 and than to Crawford County, WI in 1850. He settled in Waterville, Allamakee County, IA in 1853. Jeptha married Mary Coffman on October 5, 1854. They had six children. He was engaged in various businesses in and around Allamakee County. He also moved back to Wisconsin and than Kansas. He died in Delano, CA and was returned to Allamakee County for burial.
