"LaJuan Sneed, age 88, of Coleman, died Thursday, November 6, 2014 in Fort Worth. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 8th, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 West Pecan, Coleman. There will be a private family service on Sunday with interment in the Valera Cemetery, under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

"She was born LaJuan Authur on June 5, 1926, in Talpa, the daughter of Earl Ethan Authur and Paralee Jane Brown Authur. She grew up in Coleman County and graduated from Talpa-Centennial School. She graduated from the University of Texas and taught and coached at Round Rock before moving to Coleman where she was a teacher and coached girl’s basketball. She married Bill Sneed on February 7, 1954 and they had three daughters.

"LaJuan was a member of First Baptist Church where she was a long-time teacher for the Lydia Sunday School Class. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, the Coleman Historical Society and the Circle C Cattlewomen. For a number of years she served on the Coleman ISD School Board. She enjoyed watching her girls at stock shows and raising sheep.

"She is survived by three daughters, Sheila Sneed Franke of Abilene, Sue Ellen Sneed Bohler of College Station and Sharon Sneed Hicks and husband Bill of Fort Worth; fourteen grandchildren, Jake Franke (Jaimie), Jane Smith (Tye Morrison), Jare Smith, Claire and Carson Bohler, Sheridan Sneed Davis (Matt Gleason), Barbie and Jesse Bohler, Brenna, Briley (Haley), Brett (Shawna), Brandon Hicks and Bryce Davis (Kati). She is also survived by four great-grandchildren, Colby Smith, Corbin Willis, Briella Waits and Giselle Seiter; numerous extended family members.

"She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Samantha Davis.

"Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, c/o Coleman Senior Center, 916 S. Concho, Coleman, Texas 76834 or the donor’s favorite charity."
