Spc. Wesley R. Wells, 21, of Libertyville, Ill.; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division (Light), Schofield Barracks, Hawaii; killed Sept.20 when his observation post was fired on by anti-coalition militia forces in Naka, Afghanistan. He is survived by his wife, Jonalyn, his mother, Joan, his father, Robert, and two sisters, Heather and Tiffany. He also is survived by his grandparents, Mary Lawrence Neal, Helen Wells and Tom Wells. Wesley was the recipient of the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Service Ribbons, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal.
