Our loving husband and father, Jack Gordon Reese, passed away peacefully at his home in Archer on the morning of November 5, 2014.

He was born February 21, 1946, in Rexburg, to Jack Howard and Berniece Salome Sommer Fikstad. After his parent's divorce and mother's subsequent marriage to William Oscar Reese, he changed his name to Reese out of respect for his stepfather.

His family moved throughout the United States following his father's work in electrical construction, finally settling in Alaska for 10 years.

After high school he joined the United States Navy and served three years active duty. He served two tours in Vietnam.

He met the love of his life, Darla Pincock, in 1966, before his last tour in Vietnam. They were married on July 1, 1967 in Wilford, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on October 18, 1974.

He worked for 30 years at Tri-County Equipment as a farm machinery technician. He called many farmers his friends. He also had his own business for a time, building irrigation pivots. He worked at Pioneer Equipment for a time before retiring when his health declined.

He loved fishing, hunting and camping with his family. His greatest pleasure was teaching his grandchildren how to fish. He will be greatly missed.

He and Darla are the proud parents of eight children; Wendy (Mike) Preston of Menan, Amy (Troy) Mortensen of Jerome, Lisa (Tyler) Clayson of Idaho Falls, Mitzi (George) Ricks of Rigby, Jenny (Peter) Stilling of Rexburg, Eric (Tree) Reese of Rigby, Jacque (Shaun) Michaelis of Fort Rucker, Alabama, Lacy Sims of Seminole, Florida. He is also survived by 27 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brother, Eddy (Shelly) Reese of Salmon; sisters Janis Mower, Cherie Monroe and Peggy Reese; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 10, at the Archer LDS Chapel with Bishop Bryan Pope officiating. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Flamm Funeral Home in Rexburg and Monday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Sutton Cemetery with military rites performed by the Madison County veterans and the Idaho Honor Guard.
