Born May 15, 1920, in York, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Mabel Knisley.
Fern was a lover of animals. She enjoyed crafts, especially painting, knitting, crocheting, sewing, and quilting. Surviving are granddaughter, Sheryl L. Horn, who was her caregiver while living in Lancaster; five other grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Fern was preceded in death by two sons, Dennis and Kenneth Horn; two husbands, David Jacobs (2008) and Charles Boyer; and three brothers, Richard, Playfield, and Emory Knisley. Funeral arrangements are private through the Andrew T. Scheid Funeral Home-Sullivan Home, 121 S. Prince St., Lancaster 17603. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the York County S.P.C.A in Fern's memory.
