Actress, Author. Born Meredith Lee Hughes in Montreal, Quebec, Canada she appeared in 75 credits. She is arguably best known for playing 'Helen Heriot', the wife of fictitious veterinarian, 'James Heriot' in the television series, “All Creatures Great and Small” (1988 to 1990). She also appeared in the television series, “Doctor Who” (1986), “Second Thoughts” (1991 to 1994), and “Faith in the Future” (1995 to 1998). Additionally, Bellingham was known for playing the mother of the Oxo family in a series of television commercials in Great Britain. In 2014, she was awarded the OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) for voluntary service to Charitable Giving in the United Kingdom, on the Queen Elizabeth's New Year Honours List. She was married to Michael Pattemore, and was 66 years of age when she died after a long battle with colon cancer.
