Lillis Lovina Luce of Osceola, died at the Clarke County Hospital Thursday, January 17, 1980. Funeral services were held Saturday, January 19, from the Webster-Kale Funeral Home in Osceola. Rev. Richard Eis conducted the 3:00 p.m. service with burial in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Osceola.


Lillis Lovina Luce, 90, was born in Clarke County, Iowa March 26, 1889, the daughter of Phillip Miller, Jr. and Nellie Carrie Belle Price Miller. She received her education in the Clarke County Schools and on November 30, 1921, she was united in marriage to Carl E. Luce in Osceola. She was a member of Ophir Chapter Order of the Eastern Star and the Leslie Auxiliary. She was affiliated with the United Methodist Church.


She is survived by step-son Lyle Luce or Busch, Arkansas; three brothers: Lloyd Miller, Pearl Miller, and Norman Miller, all of Osceola; and one sister Blanche Eddy of Osceola.


She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, and one sister.
