BURLEY – Larry Lee Winn, age 76, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and respected businessman returned to his Heavenly Father Monday, November 03, 2014, in Salt Lake City, from complications associated with heart surgery.

Larry was born December 14, 1937 in Heyburn, Idaho to Ted and Edna (Craven) Winn. Larry attended Paul Elementary and was in the first class that graduated from the new Minico High School in 1956. Larry loved football and was a defensive star at Minico. Opposing players used to say “when Larry Winn hit you on the field you knew you had been hit.”

Larry loved to water & snow ski. Most weekends you could find Larry on the water or on the mountain playing with family and friends.

Larry was in Twin Falls with friends one evening when he met the love of his life, Kay Marsden. They dated and were married on October 21, 1960. They recently celebrated 54 years of wonderful marriage together.

Larry and Kay were never far apart from each other. They loved to dance, bowl, and play cards with friends. They had two children, Randy Lee and Cynthia Kay. Larry was thrilled to be a father to two wonderful children. They were both the apple in their father’s eyes. Larry loved playing church softball with his son. He had specialty uniforms made for him and his son which read, ‘Pooh’ and ‘Pooh Jr’.

Larry loved to take his family on camping and motorcycle trips. He bought a motorhome for his family and had many fond memories of his family’s trips together. Every summer Larry and his family would take trips with the Larry Vickers, Gary Masoner, and Ed Struchen families.

Larry also had special friendships with Paul Williams, Junior Quast, Larry Durffee, Wayne Beck, Bill Garrard, Jim Twiss, Larry Gerratt, Val Robins ...and many others. They were all huge in Larry’s heart.

Larry loved to woodwork as well. He built a shop behind his home to teach Randy, Cyndy, and Broc to work with wood.

In later years Larry & Kay took many trips in their motorhome back East with Jim & JoDee Twiss and Doug & Dixie Dixson. In 2010, they bought a winter home in Phoenix and looked forward to the times family and friends would visit them there.

Larry worked for Idaho Power Company out of high school. After his marriage he built the Big O Tire store in Paul, Idaho. In 1978, he was a representative for Big O. Later that year Larry sold the Paul store to Max Twiss and built Tires West in Burley.

In 1987, he became associated with Les Schwab Tires. He loved his interaction with the customers throughout his career and loved giving back to the community as well. He developed many long-lasting friendships with employees and customers that will last forever. In 2004, he sold the store to his son. His daughter and grandson have both worked at the store for years, Cyndy as the executive secretary, and Broc as a salesman.

In October 1982, Larry was sealed for time and all eternity to his family in the Ogden LDS Temple. He served faithfully in many capacities in the church. He was Elder’s Quorum President, High Priest’s Group Leader, Sunday School President, Sunday School teacher, and Scoutmaster. He enjoyed serving his ward family and was a friend to all.

Larry is survived by his wife, Kay; his son, Randy (Amy); his daughter, Cyndy (Stirling) Teeter; his brother, Jimmy; seven grandchildren: Broc, Jonathon, Hagen, Hailey, Emma, Whitney and Thane (Alisha); as well as many cousins, nephews, and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Edna; and in-laws, Howard (Shorty) and Cora (Covington) Marsden.

We’ll love you forever!!! You will always be in our hearts til we meet again!!!
