Ruth Thomas Collier, 87, of Zolfo Springs, passed away on November 4, 2014. She was born in Russellville, Alabama on January 31, 1927. Ruth had been a resident of Zolfo Springs since 1949 and was a member of the Mission Holiness Church in Wauchula. She had been employed at Mancini's Packing House as a sectionizer for 30 years, the Fort Meade Packing House for 10 years, and as a caretaker at the Home of Love in Zolfo Springs for 10 years.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Thomas, a son, Marty Thomas, and a sister, Nora Huckaba. Survivors include two sons, Tommy Thomas of Zolfo Springs and Johnny Thomas of Bowling Green; one daughter, Betty Ruth Walker of Lake City; one brother, Floyd Montgomery of Russellville, Alabama; nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Robarts Garden Chapel on Thursdiay, November 6, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, with funeral services on Friday, November 7th at 1:00 PM, also at Robarts Garden Chapel. Interment is at New Hope Cemetery. Dooley Staton will officiate.
