The funeral service for Benjamin F. Ray, 53, of Waverly, AL, will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at Mt. Pelia Missionary Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery, Rev. Stanley Looney will officiate.

Mr. Ray, who passed away Sunday, November 20, 2011 at his home, was born March 5, 1958 in Lee County, Alabama.

Survivors include: three children, Benjamin Jamar Ray of Waverly, AL, Gabriel (LaToya) Ray and Genaya Alicia (Jabari Richards) Ray both of Sacramento, CA; father, Lorenza Ray, Jr. of Waverly, AL; sister, Annie Pearl (Charles) Sims of Auburn, AL; three grandchildren, Nevaeh Richards, Jabari Richards, Jr. and Savannah Love Ray all of Sacramento, CA; aunts, Thelma Collier of Columbus, GA, Louise (Rex) Bedell, Ruth Bedell, Mary Ray, Lizzie (Ray) Pollard all of Opelika, AL, Bertha (Grover) Hardie of West Islip, NY, Emmie (Early) Williams of Lanett, AL and Alice Hall of Valley, AL; uncles, Oscar Ogletree of Auburn, AL, John Henry (Ruby) Ogletree of Waverly, AL, Jessie (Delores) Ogletree of Columbus, GA, Robert Ray of Opelika, AL and Willie (Lilly) Ray of Waverly, AL; four great aunts, Sallie (Joe) Thomas, Rosie Mae Cobb, Daisy Cobb and Emma Ogletree all of Auburn, AL; one nieces, LaKesha (Ramon) Parks; two nephews, Antonio Tolbert and Janorris Tolbert; three special cousins, Michael, Prather, & Felicia Bickerstaff; three step-children, Dameah Johnson, Donald Johnson and Daniel Johnson all of Sacramento, CA; a host of other relatives and friends.
