BOBBY BLANKENSHIP JR., 67 years of age of Grundy, VA, passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at the Buchanan General Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Buchanan County, he was the son of the late Nickodemis and Virginia Lester Blankenship. He was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and of the Old Regular Baptist Faith. He loved to hunt and fish and was a disabled Coal Miner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2-Sisters: Alfie Hurley and Wanda Wajdawg; 4-Brothers: Stevie Dean Blankenship, Larry Blankenship, Roger Blankenship and Jerry Blankenship.
Those left to cherish his memory include, 5-Sisters: Dreama Blankenship, Old Lesters Fork Road, Grundy, VA, Linda (Bill) Light, Hurley, VA, Paula (Fred) Hackney, Hurley, VA, Judy (Tommy) Smith, Hurley, VA, Michelle Blankenship, Charlottesville, VA; 2-Brothers: Hufford (Janet) Blankenship, Elkton, MD, and Elmer (Lauren) Blankenship, Onley, MD; several Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral Services for BOBBY BLANKENSHIP JR. will be conducted Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Ashby officiating with burial to follow in the Mountain Valley Memorial Park, Big Rock, VA.
Friends may call at the Grundy Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M.
Active Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Employees of Heritage Hall Nursing Home and Buchanan General Hospital.
