He was a useful citizen always exerting his influence to build of the character of the people of his community. The following obituary was read at the funeral: Henry Wesley McKim July 28 1852 died February 24 1933 aged 80 yrs 6 months and 26 days. He was born in Harrison County Indiana, where he spent his entire life. He was a son of the late Thomas R and Margaret Smith McKim. He was united in marriage to Miss Sarah M. Herndon Feb 3, 1876, to this union 8 children were born, 7 of whom survive their father, William passing away at the age of 28. He is survived by his aged wife and 7 children, 5 sons and 2 daughters, John, Roy and Creston of this County, Ivan of Klamath Falls Oregon and Lee of Dayton Ohio, Mrs. Wilford Julia Watson and Mrs. Charles Eliza Simms of this County. Also 22 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He was one of a family of 10 children, 7 of whom survive him, 6 brothers and 1 sister, they are Rev Charles L. McKim of Des Moines Iowa, William and George of Mount Union Iowa James Ivin of Wanetah Indiana, and Thomas and Fred of this County, and Mrs. Sarah Doner of Louisville, Kentucky. He was united with the Chiristian Church and was baptized at the age of 16, and he remained Faithful to his early proffessions until the end. He was a devoted servant of Christ, and for more than 50 yrs he was a Minister of the Gospel in the CHurch of his choice. He was frequently called upon to conduct Funeral Services, and he continued in this Service until the past few years when age and illness prevented. He was a faithful and devoted husband and father, and he was loved and respected by many friends old and young. During his last days he was resigned to the call he knew must soon come, and expressed his willingness to go, saying in the spirit in which he had spent his long life, "Thy will not mind be done". It is interesting to note that among the brothers and sisters of which Brother McKim was one, there had not been a death in 60 yrs.
