Bessie Mae Bennett Andrews, 86, of Livingston, LA, passed away Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014 at Baton Rouge General, Mid City.

She was a graduate of Doyle High School in Livingston and later graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Southeastern Louisiana University, Hammond. Bessie retired from the Livingston Parish Public School System where she taught 2nd grade at Doyle Elementary for 35 years and served as a substitute teacher for 10 years.

She was a charter member of First Baptist Church of Livingston and the Fairest Star Chapter 235. She enjoyed traveling and attending local sporting events with her family.

Visitation will be at the First Baptist Church of Livingston on Thursday, Nov. 6, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation will resume Friday, Nov. 7, from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. conducted by Rev. Delmas Taylor and Rev. Keith Payne. Burial will be at Gateway Gardens Memorial Park, Livingston.

Bessie is survived by her husband, Alex Andrews; daughter, Doris Green Foster; grandchildren, Karla Sullivan, Candace Wheat, Cory Sullivan and wife, Fonda, Donnie Green Jr., Crystal Wilkinson and fiancé, Brad Molliere, and Derek Green; 14 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Louise Lee Bennett; son, Donald Ray Green, Sr.; brother Floyd E. Bennett; sister, Myrle Bennett Fontenot; and brother-in-law, Heulette C. Fontenot, Sr. Pallbearers will be Hunter Willkinson, Will Sullivan, Chris Wilkinson, Logan Green, Nathan Wheat, Blake McCartney, and Jacob Wilkinson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Clo Fontenot, Lamar Picou, Cory Sullivan, Donnie Green, Charles McCartney, and Randall Andrews.
