Born Feb. 19, 1937, in West Mayfield, PA, son of the late Leslie S. and Ida Frederick Powell Sr. He retired in January of 1988 as a machinist from Babcock & Wilcox, then currently drove for McCarter Transit for 14 years and was an avid outdoorsman.
Surviving are his wife, Sally Powell, Darlington; three sons and daughters-in-law, Leslie (Lee) and Susan Powell, Mooresville, NC; Frank (Bill) and Cassie Powell, New Castle; Kenneth (Ken) and Ana Powell, Bayville, NJ; a daughter, Linda Foster, Colorado Springs, CO; 13 grandchildren, two great-granddaughters; a sister, Margaret (Peggy) Bardocz, Beaver Falls; two sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Janet and Bob Adams, Baden; Toni and Robert Klacik, Conway; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Cheryl Rizzo, Tampa, FL; mother-in-law, Anne Rizzo, Baden; two nieces, Erica and Matthew Olher and their three children of Akron, OH; Jennifer and David Lapic of Virginia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, June Madden, and Cindy Chidester.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 p.m. until time of Parastas at 7:30 p.m. in the JOHN SYKA FUNERAL HOME INC., 833 Kennedy Drive, Ambridge. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m. in St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Church with Father Michael Kochis officiating.
Interment will follow in Beaver Falls Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the St. Vladimir Ukrainian Orthodox Church Endowment Fund.
