Pat attended the Women’s College of North Carolina and married the love of her life Laton Harris in 1954. She and Laton lived in Galax and raised their three children. Pat cherished time with her family and extended that love to generations of pets – cats, dogs and horses. Her dedication to animals led to 40+ years of service at Galax Veterinary Clinic.
She is survived by her brother, Howard Ruddick and his wife Barbara and her sister-in-law Camille Ruddick. Pat is also survived by her children Henry Harris and his wife Chele, Mike Harris and his wife Bonese, and her daughter Pam. She is also survived by her grandchildren Phil Harris, Stephanie Anderson, Curren Harris, two great grandchildren, 5 cats, 2 dogs, 10 horses and several nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home, Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. A graveside service will be held at Felts Cemetery Thursday, November 6, 2014 at 1:00 PM.
