“Mrs. Mary Elizabeth McHenry, 99, of Foxburg, died yesterday afternoon in her home after an illness. Born April 29, 1888 in Canoe Riffle, Licking Township, Clarion County, she was the daughter of John and Christina Taylor Bashline. Her husband, Wesley H. McHenry, died July 12, 1948. They had been married Feb. 19, 1913. During World War II they had the distinction of having five sons serving in the Armed Forces overseas in both theaters of operation. Mrs. McHenry was a member of Foxburg United Methodist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 636 of Foxburg. Surviving are her sons, Wesley C. McHenry at home, Sharon L. of Parker, John S. of Austin, Texas, Charles E. of Emlenton R. D. 3 and Richard G. of Turkey city; a daughter, Betty McHenry at home; 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family; a sister and seven brothers preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a son, two grandsons and a great-grandson.

McHENRY - Friends of Mrs. Mary Elizabeth McHenry of Foxburg who died Monday, Jan. 11, 1988 will be received at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, Wayne Street, Parker, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from the funeral home with the Rev. Rodger R. Buzard, pastor of Foxburg United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Foxburg Cemetery. Arrangements by Buzard.”
