Susan "Diane" Spencer, 55, Marion, died at 6:17 p.m. on Friday, October 31, 2014 in St. Vincent Heart Center in Indianapolis. Diane was born in Marion to the late Diamond "Dick" and Betty Jean (Spurling) Cook. On July 22, 1978 Diane married James Lee Spencer; he preceded her in death on April 23, 2012. Diane graduated from Marion High School in 1977. She had worked for Marion Youth Baseball Bingo for 25 years as well as Marion Eagles Lodge Bingo. Diane loved going to the casino and playing bingo, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her mother, Betty Jean Cook; children, Travis Lee Spencer, Chance James Spencer, James Justin Spencer and Storm Ray Spencer, all of Marion; grandchildren, Alexis, Preston, Skyler, Jazzlyn and Kyler; siblings, Debbie (Tom) Sheren, Brenda (John) Veronia, Rick Cook and Rae-Jean (Mark) Hansel; many nieces nephews and friends; special friend, April Monroe, and mother-in-law, Dorothy Spencer. Along with her father and husband, James, Diane was preceded in death by her friend, Connie McCkormick. Services for Diane will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave. Marion, IN 46952 with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating. Visitation will be from 12 noon-2 p.m. on Saturday, prior to the service, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org.
