James Bruckshaw was born in March 1921 in Bolton, Lancashire, his father, William, was 41 and his mother, Minnie, was 37. He had one brother and one sister. James was served with the RAF in WWII andlost his life when his plane, Whitley T4233 crashed at Maria-Hoop Limburg, a small hamlet in the south of Holland, after a bomb raid to Duisburg Germany. at the age of 20. Took off from RAF Topcliffe at 2258 hrs. Shot down by a night-fighter (Hptm Werner Streib I./NJG1) All are buried in Jonkerbos War Cemetery.
