Florence LoRayne Puffer Myers, age 91, passed away October 30, 2014 in Beaver, Utah. She was born August 28, 1923 in Manderfield, Utah to Jasper and Winnifred Puffer.
She was a 1941 graduate from Beaver High School. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served as a Primary President and in other Primary callings. She served in various Relief Society and Young Women leadership callings. She also served as a missionary at Cove Fort.
Being a beloved mother and grandmother was the joy of her life. She loved the mountains, picking pine nuts and spending time with her family. She took pride in the manicuring and upkeep of her yard. In her later years, she received the Minersville Town Beautification Award. Quilting was her pastime and one of the many ways she enjoyed giving service. She gave away over 130 of her personal handmade quilts to family and friends in her lifetime. Four were donated to the recent Haiti Humanitarian Relief effort through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
LoRayne is survived by her children Mitchell Myers (Joan) of Delta, UT; Joyce Wiseman (Jeff) of Milford, UT; Ralph Myers (Christy) of Fillmore, UT; Michele Rich (Tony) of Casper, WY; brother Robert Puffer (Jill) of Kanab, UT; 14 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Vendon Myers, daughter JoAnn Myers, brothers Byron Puffer and Cullen Puffer; and sisters Maxine Edwards, Nettie Griffiths and Shirley Myers.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at the Minersville Stake Center (130 W Main, Minersville, UT). Viewing will be held prior from 10-11:30 am, also at the stake center. Interment will be in the Minersville Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
