Susie Pearl Moore was born in Concord, Texas on May 9, 1931. Her parents were Willie Grubbs and his wife, Opal Alexander Grubbs. She graduated from high school in 1949 from Centerville High School. She married James Moore and they raised their family in Leon County. At the time of his death, she and James had been married almost 60 years. Susie was a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother (including great grandmother). She was an active member of the Flo Community Baptist Church. Susie was a very good cook and loved cooking especially for her family. Sunday lunches following church will long be remembered by many people...family and friends alike. She also liked to sew and made clothing for her husband, her sons and daughter and, later, for grandchildren and great grandchildren. Susie was a friend to many in her community and was generous with her encouragement. On the evening of November 1, she passed from this life gently, in her sleep, leaving behind those who will not forget her and will always remember the love they shared. Susie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; daughter, Beverly Irvine and her husband, Duane Irvine and a great grandson, Dylan Moore. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Tina Moore of Buffalo and Kenneth and Julie Moore of Buffalo, six grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.
