Carolyn Sue Allen of Mount Carmel Illinois passed away on Tuesday October 28, 2014 at her residence surrounded by her loving family, She was born on December 15, 1938 in Mount Carmel Illinois, the daughter of Virgil J. Dunn and Edna Mae (Peterson )Dunn , Sue Married Robert K. (Sug) Allen on September 10 1957 at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mount Carmel Illinois. He preceded her in death on February 22,2012. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, brother James Dunn, Sisters Joan Sullivan, Phyllis Keepes, Imogene Stoltz, and Norma Burrell, niece Sandy Keepes, For several years Sue was employed by Thordarson Meissners, Her priority job in life was being a homemaker and loving mother, She enjoyed crocheting , reading novels, spending time with her family and friends at the river camp and attending family reunions. Sue loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and most of all she always put others before herself. she is survived by her children, Robert (Natalie) Allen 111, Mark Allen, Chris Allen, Karen (Larry) Burns, Cathy Allen and Suzanne Garrett(Mike), all of Mount Carmel Illinois, grandchildren Nathan Allen, LeAnne Burns, Larry BUrns, Jessica Mason, Bobbi Sue Allen, Ryan Allen, Blake Allen, Eddie Garrett, Derek Garrett, Great grandchildren Malachi Trusty, Mason Allen, Joseph Burns, Savannah Meier, Brayden Mason, Nevaeh Schmitt, and Jayden Schmitt, several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 1:00 Friday October 31 2014 at the Mount Carmel Church of Christ 2400 North Cherry Street in Mount Carmel with Pastor Bobby Smith officiating, Burial will follow at Highland Memorial cemetery. Friend and family may gather for visitation October 31, 2014 at the Church, Memorial envelopes will be available at the church or may be mailed to Keepes Funeral Home 1500 North Cherry Street Mount Carmel Ill. 62863. service music included Amazing Grace, King James, and Go Rest on the Mountain, Carl Orand played Red River Valley, on Violin.
pallbearers included Nathan Allen, Ryan Allen, Larry Burns, Larry Burns jr. Derek Garrett and Eddie Garrett. honorary pallbearers were Blake Allen, Malachi Trusty, Brayden Mason, Joseph Burns, Jayden Schmitt.
Burial took place at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Mt. Carmel Ill. Keepes funeral Home was honored to servr the Allen Family with the arrangements.
