Robert Neal Brunson, 74, of Paris passed away Sunday, November 2, 2014, at Paris Regional Medical Center, just one day short of his 75th birthday.

Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5th, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Fortenberry & Rev. Wayne Blackshear officiating. Burial, with Masonic Rites, will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Robert, the only child of Russell Brunson and Ina Pauline Brunson Park, was born November 3, 1939, in Ben Franklin.

He graduated from Paris High School in 1957. On May 30, 1959, he married Betty L. Baughman building fifty-three years of family and memories before her death on February 20, 2013.

His career with Campbell Soup Company spanned 35 years before his retirement in 1999. Robert loved camping and traveling. Every chance he had was spent at a lake. He loved Colorado and traveled there for the past 33 years with the exception of this year when Hodgkin’s Lymphoma prevented him from taking his camper. He left his camper behind and traveled there to stay in a hotel and visit with dear friends.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and COP (Citizens On Patrol).

Robert never met a stranger. He had the Brunson gift of gab and was always ready to talk and visit with his many friends and the next person he would call friend.

Daddy will be so missed. He was our go-to-daddy with the answer to any question on how to do this – how to fix that- do you have this – do you have that. He always had the answer and had the necessary items to use because he was what us older folks call a packrat.

Papa and Nana were at every baseball game, softball game, football game or school function the grandkids ever participated in. They always carried Amanda, Nicole and Brandon with them to Colorado for as long as they wanted to go.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Bowman Brunson, whom he found happiness with and married on March 14, 2014, a daughter, Robin Phillips & husband John, a son, Rodney Brunson & wife Tammie, grandchildren, Amanda Brunson & fiancé Cliff Bailey, Nicole Williams & husband Bryan and Brandon Phillips & fiancé Rileigh Edwards, great grandchildren, Alexis, Nick, Eli, Jeremy and Addalynn, step-children, Cholly Gordon and Rod Ashmore & wife Renee, sister-in-law & brother-in-law, Barbara & Joe Ross, cousin, Linda Fleming & husband Wilton, aunt, June Brunson and many other wonderful cousins, camping friends, work friends and his sweet fur baby, Peanut.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty, twin sons, Richard & Randy Brunson and his parents.

Casket bearers will be: Carey Fleming, Bryan Williams, Rusty Smith, Doug Cato, Ricky Brunson and Roger Burrow. Honorary bearers will be: Marx Offutt, Troy Bright and James Parker.
