Ricky Scott was born in Erie, PA to Raymond & Myrtle Scott. He graduated from Rice Avenue Union High in 1966. Following graduation, he joined the United States Army, spent two tours of duty in Vietnam, assignments in Germany and Alaska, and retired from Ft. Riley in 1988.
Ricky was preceded in death by his brother, Rodney, his daughter, Courtney, and his father, Raymond. He is survived by his mother, Myrtle Warner Scott, his son, Ronald, and two grandchildren, Courtney and Jordan, plus his sister and brother-in-law, Rae & Don Huntington, two nephews, Matthew & Adam Huntington, & a niece, Dawn Marie Sable, and his ex-wife, Marilyn Fall Terrell.
Ricky had great love and pride for his son and grandchildren, and for many years wore royal purple and drove a purple truck in support of Kansas State University athletics where the young players affectionately called him Pop. Ricky also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his friends.
Funeral Services will 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014 at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery at Ft. Riley. Military Honors will be provided by the U.S. Army Honor Guard from Ft. Riley. The family will greet friends 9:00 a.m.-10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, prior to departing for the cemetery.
