Our loving mother and grandmother, Colleen P. Ferguson, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, October 27, 2014.

Colleen was born January 28, 1928 in Avon, Utah to Marion and Elizabeth Anderson.

They eventually moved to North Logan, Utah, where she met Leonard Ferguson and they were married on December 10, 1945.

In 1956, they moved to Washington State near the Tri-Cities, to homestead a farm.

She went back to school to become an LPN and work as a nurse for many years while also helping Leonard with the farm and raising her children.

Over the years, she came to be known as Grandma to not just her grandkids but to those she adopted along the way. She was a kind and loving person. She would listen to everyone no matter what they needed to talk about.

Colleen loved to talk to people about where they were from, where they had been and to learn about other countries. She truly wanted to be involved in everyone's life.

Colleen is survived by her five children, Jerry (Karen), Steve (Sue), David (Linda), Lynda (Jay), and Laura (Luis); thirteen grandchildren; twenty-eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Betty and Linda.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road (1700 West), Taylorsville.
Interment will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the Paradise Cemetery, Paradise.
