Reverend Etshel E. Hillhouse, 89, of Evansville, IN, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2014. He was born August 1, 1925, in Ozark County, Missouri.
Etshel graduated from Oakland City College. He was a full-time General Baptist Pastor for 45 years and ministered in Springfield, MO, Tennyson, IN, Coe, IN, New Hope, IL, East Alton, IL, Springfield, IL, Mt. Vernon, IN, and Evansville, IN.
He served on the Christian Education board for six years and was president for three years. Etshel organized mission churches in Springfield, IL and Springfield, MO and
was a current member of Garvinwood General Baptist Church.
Etshel was married to Wilma Counts for 62 years until her death in 2006, and later was married to Ruth Marks from February, 2011until her death in 2012.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Hillhouse and two brothers.
