Shirley M. Scherrer, 88, of Parkville, MO, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m., followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, November 6, 2014, at St. Therese Catholic Church, Kansas City, MO. Interment will be in St. Vincent Cemetery, Riverside, IA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Servants of Mary, Ministers to the Sick, 800 North 8th Street, Kansas City, KS 66102 Shirley was born February 3, 1926, in Minneapolis , MN., the daughter of Charles and Elsie Syverson Bourke. She had been a member of the Altar Society and volunteered with the food pantry at St. Therese. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Virgil H. Scherrer. She is survived by three daughters; Rheta Jean (John) Kirk, Rose Mary (Jim) Comfort, and Ruth Scherrer, three grandchildren: Jeff Comfort, Chris Comfort, and Christine Smith, three great-grandchildren: Gage and Brody Comfort, and Quinton Smith; and a brother, Kenneth Bourke.
