A resident of Walker and former resident of Houston, Tx, and Baton Rouge, she graduated from St. Anthony High School and later entered the Notre Dame Mother House in Dallas Tx, where she resided for 1 ½ years. Kathy worked at Catholic Church parishes in Texas and La. in various positions, developing religious education programs, and was Pastoral Associate to Monsignor Milam Joseph in Tyler, Tx. She also taught theology and religious studies in Catholic schools in Shreveport, Tyler, and Houston Tx.
Kathy is survived by her mother, Grace Ladd Garrett; aunt, Santina Farris; devoted cousins, Pat Prince and Peggy Jenkins; godchild, Nancy McDonald; and numerous other cousins. She was blessed with many loving and supportive life-long friends, some from very early childhood.
Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014 from 10:00 am until the funeral service begins at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
