MILLER, Juliet Mary

March 11, 1983 - Oct. 14, 2014

Juliet's precious light left us with the sun, at dusk on Tuesday, October 14, surrounded by her loving family.

After a two week struggle with pneumonia in the hospital, her lungs were damaged beyond repair.

She was 31. An intellectual, a lover of philosophy, and film and loved by animals and children, she moved through the world with a care and sensitivity unique to her shining soul.

She attended St. Francis high school and college in Santa Barbara. She was a trend-setting iconoclast who loved expressing herself through fashion and her ethereal voice in music and poetry.

With an eye for faded treasure she scoured garage sales, vintage stores, and record shops for special items to add to her collection.

A gourmet vegetarian cook and a perfectionist pie maker, she would throw out imperfect dough and start again, diligently striving for her grandmother's flaky crust.

Juliet loved the natural world and had a special affinity for wolves, horses, and cats. Her favorite places were coastal, including: Irish Beach, CA, The Olympic Peninsula, WA, and Casey Key, FL.

She is survived by her parents, Robert and Gail Counts Miller; sister, Sarah Miller (Joe Martinez); brother, Ryan Mckenna; aunts, Susan Marks and Lisa Kopplin; uncle, William Counts; cousin, Will Marks, her cat, Mishka and numerous other relatives in FL, CA., Finland and China.

"Inside Our Hearts, Forever You Stay".

Please join us for a memorial gathering on November 16th at 2:00 PM at Verge Center For The Arts, 625 S St, Sacramento, CA 95811.
Donations can be made in her name to the non-profit National Alliance on Mental Illness
