Born in Harrisburg on August 29, 1921, she was the daughter of the late George Franklin and Gertrude Mary Hahnlin Eckert.
Dorothy retired after 45 years as a secretary for Penn National Insurance Company. She was a 1939 graduate of William Penn High School. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Harrisburg. Dorothy enjoyed sports and loved bowling.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by three sisters, Alma, Sarah, and Kathleen.
Graveside services and inurnment will be in the East Harrisburg Cemetery, Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 1 PM, with The Rev. Dr. S. Ronald Parks, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, 4700 Locust Lane, Harrisburg, PA 17109.
