Adela is survived by her two sons; Paul W. Frantzen and wife Bonnie Sue of Crocker, Missouri, and Carl A. Frantzen and wife Bonnie of Boerne, Texas. Also, two grandsons, Andrew S. Frantzen and wife Jordan of Boerne and Barrett W. Frantzen and wife Misty of Bandera, Texas; great grandchildren: Nicholas D. Frantzen and Jaxon L. Frantzen of Boerne and Grace and Austin Kelly of Bandera; and numerous relatives and friends.
Adela was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Bertha Borchers; her husband, Clifton E. Frantzen; her granddaughter, Hailey M. Frantzen; and six sisters and 2 brothers.
Adela graduated from Fredericksburg High School in 1938. She attended Santa Rosa Hospital School of Nursing in San Antonio, Texas, and graduated November 4, 1942. Adela served in the U.S. Army 34th Evacuation Hospital as a 1st Lt. from December 1, 1942, to December 10, 1945. Adela also served in Normandy, Northern France, the UK, and Germany. She received the European African Middle Eastern Ribbon.
Adela was active in Hermann Sons, the Agriculture Heritage Center, and the Kendall County Fair Association. She worked at Hilltop Nursing and then Town and Country Nursing Home until she retired.
It is very hard to put into words a person's life and who they were. She was loved by so many and became "Oma" to most of Boerne. She gave of herself by giving to others and she was very talented with her embroidery work and definitely her baking. She was always a worker in all the organizations that she was involved in in Boerne. She experienced many things in her life and now we are sure she is either dancing or baking away.
