A retired civil engineer with Portland Cement Association and resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, 1996, at his residence. He was 93 and a native of St. Joseph, Mo.
Visiting was held at Welsh Funeral Home, 6700 Florida Blvd., 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Visiting at the funeral home chapel, 9 a.m. until religious services at 10 a.m. Friday, conducted by the Rev. Edgar Tiblier.
Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
Survived by a daughter, Martha B. Walker, Baton Rouge; a son, Col. John D. Blagg Jr., Warren Robins, Ga.; six grandchildren, John D. Blagg III, James H. Hyde, Robert C. and Michael F. Blagg, Sandra B. Robinson and Clare B. Rochester; seven great-grandchildren, and a great-great-granddaughter. Preceded in death by wife, Mae Guillot Blagg; and a grandson, John Harvey Hyde. He was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and many organizations.
