Helen M. Reed, 90, of Stanford, KY passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at Stanford Care and Rehabilitation. Born on November 19, 1931 in Stanford to the late James William Cook and Mary Wilson Cook. She was the widow to the late Cecil Lee Reed. She enjoyed gardening, especially caring for her flowers, and quilting. Family was a focal point in her life, treasured the time she spent with her fmaily. Helen was a member of Mt. Moriah Christian Church in Waynesburg, KY.
Survivors include one son, Randy Maybrier (Cindi) of Stanford, KY; one daughter, Shirley McNew (Jack) of Stanford; one brother, Chester Cook (Betty Jo) of Stanford; one sister, Dorothy Atwood of Moreland, KY; eight grandchildren, Craig Carrier, Larry Carrier (Janica), Shelly Berry (Mark), Dutch McNew, Angie Burger (Bill), Brandie Long (Larry Joe), Dusty Maybrier (Ashley) and Nikki Nally (Jared); fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Lee Reed; parents, James and Mary Cook; two daughters, Kathy Carrier and Violet Smith; one brother, Lester Cook; and one sister, Margaret Brown.
A one-day service will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford, KY. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed immediately by the Funeral service at 1:00 p.m., with Bro. Bill Gooch officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Moriah Christian Church Cemetery.
