Laura Fitzgerald (Wilson) Gordon


DICKINSON, N.D. — Laura Fitzgerald (Wilson) Gordon, Dickinson, N.D. died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2014 at Mandan S.D., after a brief bout with cancer.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Reach Foundation on Thursday, Nov. 6 from 2 to 4 p.m. Please join family and friends in remembrance.

Laura Genevieve Fitzgerald was born on Nov. 20, 1954, to Charlotta and Charles Fitzgerald. She attended high school in Ardmore, Okla., and later became a licensed practical nurse, working at Ardmore Memorial Hospital for 13 years. Laura married Lynn Wilson in 1974; they share two sons, Kristopher Sky and Nicolas Cody. Laura was a resident of Ardmore until moving to Riverton, Wyoming, in 1987.

Laura met and married Rick Gordon in 1994, while working as a nurse at the Wyoming State Training School. She worked throughout Fremont County as a nurse and health care provider. Her greatest joy was taking care of others.

Laura moved to North Dakota in 2009 to be closer to her children and grandchildren while receiving much needed medical support.

She enjoyed her family, making jewelry, gardening and putting together puzzles.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Rick Gordon; mother, Charlotta Fitzgerald; and sister, Cynthia Houchin.

She is survived by son, Kristopher Wilson and wife, Susan and their two sons, of Rapid City, North Dakota; son, Nicholas Cody Wilson and wife, Ellie, and their son and daughter, Gillette, Wyoming; brother, Charles Fitzgerald, North Carolina; sister, Madonna Hammer, Riverton, Wyoming; sister, Francis Hall, Mannsville, Oklahoma; brother, Toby Burkhart, Ardmore, Oklahoma; sister, Martha Shadoan, Chickasha, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and one great-great-niece.
