Her maiden name was Schwartzendruber. She was born in the principality of Waldeck, Germany, and was a daughter of Bro Jacob Schwartzendruber, deceased, the first minister and bishop in Johnson Co, Iowa. She came to America with her parents in 1833, at the age of 10. They settled in Somerset Co, Pa.
She was married in 1842, and in 1853 they moved to Johnson Co, Iowa, on a farm where she since lived. She was a faithful member of the Amish congregation there. Buried on the 11th near the Deer Creek M H Funeral service by Wm K Miller and Peter Brenneman from Rev 20:4-6.
