Mary Crowell, dau. of David Crowell and Elizabeth Emerson, b. of record April 19, 1790 at Londonderry, NH under the affectionate name of "Polly." The will of her father and her 1846 gravestone at Michigan prove the identity of Mary's parents.

Will of David Crowell of Londonderry, NH dated Mar. 18, 1837:
• I further give bequeath and devise unto my daughter Mary McAlister wife of Lt. George McAlister, my daughter Eliza Danforth wife of Stephen Danforth, and my daughter Aseneath Leach wife of Ira Leach all my household furniture, to be divided among them in equal shares.

By an intention of marriage published at Londonderry Feb. 14, 1811, Mary m. George McAllister, Jr. (George,3 David,2 Angus,1) of Londonderry. They had six children b. at Londonderry before relocating prior to 1839 to eastern Michigan. For family details see husband George's memorial.

Mary's mother, Elizabeth (Emerson) Crowell, was the younger sister of Edna Emerson, the last wife of George McAllister, Sr. and the stepmother of Mary's husband George McAllister, Jr.
