Mrs. Barbara Kay Williams was the eleventh of twelve children born November 27, 1946 to Elgia and Mae Welch in Wheeler, TX. She grew up on her family’s farm in Sweetwater, Oklahoma. She was always surrounded by lots of family growing up. On February 29, 1964, she married Bud Williams of Allison, TX. They moved to the Williams farm in Allison in 1979 and that became home. Barb always put all her effort into what she knew needed to be done, whether it was helping with the cattle or cooking and caring for her family. She was never lacking for things to keep her busy Barb worked in the grocery store in Allison for many years and she also cooked at the Allison Cafe. After her children got older, she went back to school to become an activity’s director; she was the Activity’s Director at the Wheeler Care Center for many years. Barb loved working with people and helping anyone she met. When she wasn’t working, she could be found working in her garden or in her sewing room. She enjoyed the holidays where she always spent days before preparing things and cooking for her family, but she really loved getting to spend time with them.
