John was born in Dobrinka, Russia, and came to American as a child moving to Kansas. He later moved to Oklahoma, settling in Okeene-Isabella community. He married Sarah Penner in 1914 and lived in Orienta. They came to Enid in 1957 from Howard, Kansas. He was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Church of God at Fairview.

John Nusz died Monday in Enid Hospital.

Survivors include his widow, Sarah, of the home; five daughters, Olivia, Katherine, Sarah, Hannah, and Ruth; six sons, Aaron, Albert, John, Henry, Pete and Adam; 31 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; five sisters, Mrs. Emma Weber, Mrs. Lydia Weisner and Hanna Weber, all of Okeene; Sarah Hoffman and Rachel Hiebert, both of Enid; two brothers, David and Sam, both of Okeene. A son preceded him in death.

Burial will be in the Church of God cemetery near Fairview.
