Lew was a resident of Loudon, TN., formerly of Bayonet Point, FL., and of South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana.

He passed away at Vanderbuilt Hospital unexpectedly following an accident at his home weeks prior to his death. He had been raking and burning leaves when his clothing caught fire. He had been recovering at the hospital and was anticipating transfer to his daughter's home in Boston.

He was the son of John and Lorane Boyer who have pre deceased him.

He was the husband of the late M. Joanne Beahm Boyer.

He is survived by his daughter Cindy Kane and her husband Steve of Newton, MA., and also by his son, John Boyer and his wife Cindy of Seattle, WA.

He was the grandfather to
Matthew Kane and his wife Erica of New York City,
Jack Kane of New Orleans,
Victoria Kane of Newton, MA.
Jack Boyer of Seattle
Anderson Boyer of Seattle

Lewis graduated from South Bend Central High School in 1949 and attended Indiana University.

Her served in the Army during the Korean War as a supply sergeant at Fort Knox.

He was employed as a salesman for the Uniroyal Corporation and Swift and Company before becoming an officer/owner of Great Northern Distributors, Inc. in South Bend, Indiana.

He was an avid Notre Dame and Indiana University fan.

A celebration of Lew's life was held on Sunday June 29, 2014 at the Morris Park Country Club in South Bend, Indiana.
