Lee A. Harris dies at age 86, Rites Tuesday
Lee Andrew Harris, a retired building contractor, died at 3 p.m. Sunday at his home, 504 S. 21 st Street, at the age of 86 years 10 months and 19 days.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Pulley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Allen England officiating. Burial will be at Bethel Memorial Cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the Pulley Funeral Home where friends may call after 4 p.m. today.
Mr. Harris was born Feb. 14, 1878 at Bluford the son of Benjamin and Margaret Butler Harris.
On May 30, 1900, he was married to Hester Sammons, who preceded him in death. He was married to Cecile Ingles, who survives. He is also survived by two sons, Emil C. Harris of this city and Marsean E. Harris of Las Vegas, Nevada, two dauthers, Mrs. Lester Easley of Centralia, and Mrs. J.O. Clemens of Mt. Vernon; 7 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Harris was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
He was a member of the East Hickory Hill Missionary Church and served as a deacon for many years.
