Mr. Glen Clavin Carr, 76, of Bull Run Road, Barbourville, departed this life on October 28, 2014 at his home. He was the son of the late Drew and Della Lawson Carr, and he was born to them on September 9, 1938 in Whitley County.

Mr. Carr was a retired truck driver, as well as a veteran of the United States Navy. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge 490 F & AM in Williamsburg, the Oleika Shrine Temple and the River Baptist Church. His hobbies included fishing, watching Nascar races, tending to his pets, mowing the yard, drinking coffee at McDonald's and playing cars with his grandson, Drew.

On October 18, 1969, he united in marriage to Beatrice Partin and to this union, a daughter, Anita Lynn, was born.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Drew and Della Lawson Carr; his sisters, Delphia Carr Huddleston, Ivalean Carr Parker and Margie Dean Carr; bothers, George R. Carr, J. W. "Dub" Carr and Orville Clayton Carr; four brothers-in-law, John Powers, Ray Parker, Kenneth Huddleston and Robert Lee Partin; a sister-in-law, Thelma Sanders Partin and several nephews and nieces.

He is survived by his loving wife, Beatrice Partin Carr; his daughter, Anita Carr Farmer and husband, Bill; one grandson, William Andrew Clavin Farmer; sisters, Georgia Carr Powers and Betty Carr Elam and husband, Allen; a brother, Roy Lee Carr; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Alice and Roy Siler, Dewey and Juanita Partin, Bill Partin and Diana Partin; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves behind a host of other relatives and dear friends to mourn his passing, including his beloved pets, Libby, Ella and Blue Boy.

His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Saturday, November 1 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Charles H. Douglas and Rev. Denvil Taylor Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Partin and Carr Cemetery at Bull Run Road with military funeral honors.

Those serving as casket bearers will be nephews of Mr. Carr. Honorary bearers will be Roy Siler, Dewey Partin, Bill Partin, Allen Elam, George Lawson, Wesley Meadors, Ernie Siler, Arthur Siler, Bobby Lawson, the McDonald's "Coffee Club" and the Oxendine extended family.

The family of Mr. Carr will receive friends at the funeral home Friday between the hours of 5:00 and 8:00 P.M. and Saturday after 12:00 noon until the funeral hour.
