Royalty. German queen and queen of Bohemia, Margravine of Moravia, Countess of Luxembourg. She was the youngest daughter of Charles de Valois and his third wife Mathilde de Chatillon-St. Pol. In 1323 she married Karl, the oldest son of John of Luxembourg and Queen Elisabeth of Bohemia in Paris where the couple continued to stay during the following years. The marriage was again celebrated in 1329. In 1331 they traveled to Luxembourg where she stayed while Karl joined his father on a campaign to northern Italy. In 1333 he traveled to Bohemia where Blanche joined him a year later and was greeted enthusiastically by the people. In May 1335 she gave birth to her first daughter Margarete and in 1342 a second daughter, Katharine, was born. A year before her death she was crowned Queen of Bohemia.
