Loretta's wishes were to be cremated and a memorial visitation will begin at 2 pm Sunday, November 2, 2014 at the Winfield Funeral Home of Knoxville. Loretta's family will be present Sunday evening from 6-8 pm.
A memorial service for Loretta will be held at 1 pm Monday, November 3rd, at the Riverside Church of Knoxville. Burial will follow services at the Graceland Cemetery of Knoxville.
Loretta was born May 4, 1938, in Knoxville, Iowa, the daughter of Ralph Caffrey and Carolyn Louise(Jones)Stubbs. Loretta lived in Knoxville and graduated from Knoxville High School, Class of 1956.
Loretta and Charles Allen Woodridge were married. They raised four children together; Denny, Lori, Mike and Melody.
Loretta worked at the V.A. Hospital, Tenex, and for 30 years she worked at the Collins Hospital and the Knoxville Area Community Hospital. She began working as an aide and she retired working in Admissions.
Loretta was raised in the Christian Church where she was active in the choir, taught Sunday school and Annette Grimes and Loretta taught Youth Group. She a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a lifetime member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. Loretta is a cancer survivor and a "Reach To Recovery" Volunteer, and a Turning Point board member. She especially loved her family and friends. She also enjoyed nature, flowers, fishing, boating, and a little bit of gambling.
Loretta is survived by her children, Denny(Nancy)Toll of Hudson, WI, Lori(Rodney)Derringer of Pleasant Hill, and Melody Wooldridge of Knoxville; her daughter-in-law, Ruth Wooldridge of Knoxville; seven grandchildren, Christina, Brian, Ashley, Cory, Cody, Andrea and Amber; and five great-grandchildren. Loretta is also survived by her sister, Jenny Krpan of Dallas, and her brother-in-law, Lyle Harvey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Carolyn Stubbs; her son, Mike Wooldridge; her sister, Kathy Harvey; her brother-in-law, Tom Krpan; and her nephew, Donnie Martinache.
A memorial has been established for Loretta's family and will be decided at a later date. The Winfield Funeral Home of Knoxville is helping Loretta's family with services.
