Kristin Hendrickson, 64, died Nov. 25, 2012, in Santa Barbara, Calif.

She was born Oct., 23, 1948, in Danville, daughter of William C Hendrickson and Alice Mae Davis Hendrickson, both deceased. She was the granddaughter of Clarence and Marie Linne Davis of historic Danville.

She attended Danville High School, and graduated from Lanphier High in Springfield. She received her undergraduate degree from Southern Illinois University, and her master’s degree from Sangamon State University. She was involved in an automobile accident in May of 1973 and was paralyzed from the waist down.

Kristin was always independent and that never changed. She brought love, honesty and humor to all those around her. She loved to cook, enjoyed following politics and she was an artist. She moved to Santa Barbara for the weather and medical benefits, while there she made many friends. After her death, she was cremated and her remains were placed in the Pacific Ocean by her brother Ben and sister Kathy, at her request.

Kris leaves behind her companion English sheep dog “Bugsy”; brother, Ben and his wife, Nan Freivogal Hendrickson; sisters, Kathy Hendrickson Prince and Allison Hendrickson; her stepsisters, Jessica, Lisa, Stephanie and Morira Lovelock; cousins, Tom Stearns and Susan Dann (Tom’s remembrances are ending telephone conversations with Kris saying “Bugsy sends you a thousand licks”), Jeff and Katina Lowe, Cherie Bombell and husband Ron and her nieces and nephews, Kristin Marie Prince and husband Bill Vierow, Stephanie Linne Stearns and her husband Taylor Willson and Cori Irene Prince and her husband Eric Stern and Heather, Kyle and Chris Lowe.
