Harold Hickling Preshaw was the son of John Allen Preshaw (1841-1902) and Chrestina Preshaw (nee Bremner) (1845-1915) who had married in Hamiltons, Otago, New Zealand, on 9 January 1868. As both his parents had passed by the time he enlisted to serve during World War I, Harold's next of kin was given as his brother William Bremner Preshaw, of The Glen, Eketahuna, Wellington. L/Corporal in WIR, file number 15772. Killed in action, Ypres.
