Herman “Fuzzy” Butler, age 67 of Silar City, North Carolina, formerly of the Fairplay community, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2014.
He was born September 30, 1947 in Carrollton, Georgia the son of the late Larkin W. “Doc Butler and the late Ruth Patterson Butler. He was a retired drywall installer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Oscar Butler and Y. C. Butler.
Survivors include his wife, Eula “Bugs” Butler of Silar City; children: Matt & Denise Butler, Cayce & Tracey Butler, and Chris & Christy Butler, all of Carrollton; sisters: Margaret Rakes of Silar City, NC, Sue Towler of Carrollton, and Gail Canary of Winston; brother, Jerry Butler of Douglasville; six grandchildren: Ashley Norton, Bridgett & Stuart Thompson, Shantay Butler, Breanna Butler, Joseph Butler, and Eli Butler; and two great grandchildren: Chase Norton and Bryson Butler.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, November 3, 2014 at 3:00 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel with Pastor Reggie Rakes officiating. Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
