NORWAY – Michael James Small of Oxford, died unexpectedly Tuesday, October 28th at Stephens Memorial Hospital. Michael was born in Paris, Maine on March 12, 1943 the son of Edna Small (Monk) and Carl Michael Small. He graduated from Oxford Hills High School in 1963, he worked in various shoe shops, A. C. Lawrence Leather Co. and Paris Manufacturing. He served in the National Guard reserves for many years. Michael loved to hunt and fish. When he was in better health, he would go out in the ministry to declare Jehovah’s name, and he was given the nickname “Jeremiah” by a “special sister” Laureen French. Mike also loved visiting with family and “giving hugs”. We will miss his love and smile. Michael Small is survived by Dianna Bisbee of South Paris, Donna Ingalls of Oxford, Cheryl Noyes and companion Jim Carll of Shirley, Tom and Linda Heaward of Oxford, Everard and Linda Monk of Cartersville, GA., Rodney and Janet Bailey of Swanville, Ingrid Small of Norway, and their families from the marriage of Michael’s mother Edna to Everard Monk, Sr. He is also survived by 4 stepsisters and 5 stepbrothers and their families from the marriage of Michael’s father Carl Small to Esther Small; aunts, uncles and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Michael is predeceased by his mother Edna Monk, stepfather Everard Monk, Sr., father Carl Small, brother John Small, uncle Horace Meserve, uncle William Meserve, aunt Mary Burton and stepsister Geraldine Cook.
